Harrison was elected on November 8, 2022, to represent District D on the Raleigh City Council. Her term began on December 5, 2022, when the newly elected council was sworn into office. [2]

She serves as Chair of the Housing and the Environment Committee and is a member of the Economic Development and Innovation Committee. [3]

Harrison is running for reelection to the District D seat in the 2026 Raleigh municipal election. [4]

Biography

Harrison is a coastal economics specialist with North Carolina Sea Grant, a program based at North Carolina State University focused on ocean, coastal, and watershed resource management. She also serves on the faculty at NC State University’s College of Natural Resources and the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics. [5]

Harrison holds a Bachelor of Arts in international studies and a Master of Science in environmental economics from The Ohio State University, and a Ph.D. in natural resource management from Oregon State University. [6]
